1. Agreement to these terms

Welcome to All About Lipedema. By using this site, its content, and its tools, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. Who operates the site

This site is an information hub about lipedema - articles, explanations, and tools - in Hebrew and English. Content is written and edited by the site operators, who are not a medical team. More background is available on the About page.

3. Site content and medical advice

Content on this site is for general information and education only. It is not a diagnosis, medical advice, treatment recommendation, or substitute for a physician, dietitian, physiotherapist, or other qualified professional. Before changing nutrition, exercise, supplements, or treatment, consult a care team that knows your situation.

In an emergency, contact emergency services immediately - not email or site content.

4. Permitted use

You may use the site for personal, non-commercial purposes and in compliance with law, including:

• Reading articles and explanations for personal information.
• Using the nutrition calculator and similar tools for general estimates.
• Saving articles in your browser (“Saved”) for personal use.
• Voting in the “Did you find this article interesting?” poll on articles (yes/no).
• Posting a comment on an article - with a display name and text you provide, subject to section 5a below.
• Posting a question or reply in the Q&A forum - subject to section 5a below.
• Sharing links to pages on social media, WhatsApp, email, or in messages - subject to these terms and each platform’s policies.

5. Prohibited use

You must not, among other things:

• Use the site unlawfully or in a way that infringes third-party rights.
• Copy, reproduce, distribute, or sell site content (including text, images, and design) without prior written permission - except brief quotation with attribution and a link to the source page.
• Scrape, bulk-collect, or mirror the site without authorization.
• Attempt to bypass security, overload servers, or disrupt the site.
• Present content as personal medical advice or as if written by a licensed medical professional.
• Post comments or forum content that is abusive, hateful, threatening, misleading, spam, promotional, impersonating others, or definitive medical advice or treatment recommendations as if from the site.

5a. Reader comments, forum, feedback, and sharing

Article pages may include a feedback poll, comments area, and share buttons. The site also offers a Q&A forum for community discussion. Use of these features is also governed by the Privacy policy.

• Comments and forum - Text you submit (name; for questions, an optional title and body) is displayed to other readers on the article or forum. Comments and replies and do not necessarily reflect the site operators’ views. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive license to display the comment on the site. We may remove, edit, or refuse comments, questions, or replies at our discretion without obligation to provide a reason.
• Poll - Yes/no votes are counted anonymously in aggregate to improve content; your choice may be stored in your browser (see the Privacy policy).
• Sharing - Share buttons (e.g. WhatsApp, Facebook, X) open a third-party service; use there is subject to that provider’s policies. Copy link uses your browser clipboard and does not send additional data to our server.

6. Intellectual property

Copyright, trademarks, design, and original content on the site (except third-party content and external links) belong to the site operators or their licensors. These terms do not grant any license beyond the permitted personal use described above.

7. Tools, calculators, and estimates

The BMI and macro calculator and similar tools provide general estimates based on the data you enter and commonly used formulas. Results are not personalized, are not a medical test, and do not replace professional advice. You are solely responsible for how you use the results.

8. Affiliate links, external tools, and advertising

The site may include links to products, services, or external websites (for example on the Tools page). Some links may be affiliate links - meaning the site may earn a commission if you make a purchase through such a link, at no extra cost to you.

The site may display ads (including Google AdSense) and use analytics. Details about cookies, advertising, and data collection are in the Privacy policy.

9. Content accuracy and updates

We work to publish clear, source-informed, and up-to-date information. However, lipedema and related research evolve, and errors, outdated information, or interpretations that do not fit every case may occur. We encourage verifying important information with professionals and medical sources, and reporting mistakes or suggestions to us.

10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The site, content, and tools are provided “as is”, without express or implied warranties regarding accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. We are not liable for direct, indirect, consequential, or special damages arising from use or inability to use the site or content - subject to limits under applicable law.

11. Links to external sites

Links to third-party websites, products, or services are provided for convenience. We do not control their content, policies, or practices and are not responsible for them. Use of external sites is subject to their own terms and policies.

12. Privacy and local storage

Use of the site is also governed by the Privacy policy, which explains how information is collected and processed, including cookies, analytics, advertising, reader comments, forum Q&A, article feedback polls, and local browser storage (for example saved articles and accessibility preferences). The Privacy policy is an integral part of these terms.

13. Accessibility

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. The update date appears at the top of this page. Continued use after publication of an updated version constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes may be highlighted on this page.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, to the extent permitted. Exclusive jurisdiction for matters arising from them lies with the competent courts in Israel, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
