Accessibility statement
All About Lipedema (https://www.lipedema-hub.com) works to make the site accessible to a wide audience, including people with disabilities. Last updated: May 2026.
Commitment
We aim to meet Israeli Standard SI 5568 (based on WCAG 2.0) at level AA, and to gradually improve the experience in Hebrew and English, RTL and LTR layouts, and on mobile devices. Structural accessibility (keyboard, headings, alt text for images, and more) is an ongoing part of site development - not only the adjustments menu.
Adjustments menu
An accessibility button appears at the bottom-left of every page. Through it you can adjust, among other things: text size, contrast, dark mode, line spacing, link highlighting, stopping animations, reading guide, and more. Preferences are stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and are not sent to our server - as described in the Privacy policy.
The menu is based on the open-source Open Nagish component. It complements built-in site accessibility and does not replace medical advice or a full professional accessibility audit.
Still in progress
- Periodic testing with screen readers and keyboard navigation - including feedback polls, comments, share controls at the end of articles, and forum forms.
- Improving alt text for images in older articles.
- Video captions when video content is added to the site.
Browsers and devices
The site is mainly tested on recent versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge, and on common mobile devices. If something does not work - please share details (browser, device, link to the page).
